Brion has had a long civil engineering and construction career as a full-time Project Safety Manager for the last ten years of his 40+ years in construction. In 2013, shortly after retiring, he co-authored a 272-page book on safety and risk titled “Safety Under Construction.” In 2017, Brion began volunteering for Partners In Care, a Hospice organization based out of Bend, Oregon, and continues his volunteering efforts to this day.

He has written numerous poems and prose dealing with death and dying and coping with the grief and loss of a loved one. He is also the author of “When The Rose Fades,” a poetry book published in 2000.
